There are only a few cards that we would place into the Elite Grails category. These include cards like the 1st Edition Shadowless Charizard and Chansey, the 1st Edition Lugia and Typhlosion, the lowest population Expedition Holos and the best of the best gold stars. Out of the Gold Stars, there are a few that are above the rest like the Rayquaza, Latias, Latios, Charizard, Umbreon as well as the first three Gold Stars, the Torchic, Treecko and Mudkip. The very first three Goldstar cards are extremely unique since they included starter Pokemon instead of fully evolved “stronger” characters. All of the gold star cards that I have mentioned are well into the six figure value range. Some of them are even approaching the million dollar mark. These were introduced in 2004 in the EX Team Rocket Returns set and are some of the most valuable and rarest Gold Star Pokemon cards that exist today. We are featuring one of the highest level gold stars in existence in today’s release, the Gold Star Treecko! This card is so extremely scarce that it hardly ever sells in PSA 10 condition so it is difficult to determine the true value. A Gold Star Rayquaza sold for around $680,000 a few days ago. This is a higher status card, but has almost an identical population. The Treecko has the prestigious status of being one of the first gold stars released in the very first set that included them. The cheapest PSA 10 example that is currently available is listed at $250,000. We have priced this at a range that we feel is extremely conservative.
