In 2002, Pokemon released one of the most covenant sets ever, Legendary Collection. This was the lowest production English language set ever released by Wizards of the Coast. They introduced the very first reverse holo which was included in every single pack and the holos were the rarest cards, with a pull rate of 1 in 3 packs just like previous WOTC sets. The gem rates for the reverses were about 2-3% which is considered low but not unheard of for WOTC sets. On the other hand, the holos had gem rates on average that were below 1% and were not included in every pack like the reverse holos. This led to the lowest population holos in the entire WOTC era for the majority of the cards. We are featuring the lowest population English language Charizard which also happens to come from the WOTC era, making this one of the absolute most essential Charizard cards in the entire hobby. We did a drop several months ago with a Platinum era Charizard which at the time had a population of 16 PSA 10’s. Since then, the population has surged to 22 for that card. The Legendary Collection holo currently has a population of only 17. Upon researching past sales, a PSA 10 sold in 2023 on a well known auction and they claimed at the time that there were 16 PSA 10 examples. The population on this card has remained extremely stagnant, helping solidify its position as one of the top Charizard grails! Combine the fact that Legendary Collection boxes are around $225-250k and this has a gem rate of only .54%, making it extremely unlikely that the population will ever rise significantly. In terms of scarcity, the Legendary Collection reverse holo Charizard is a massive grail and there are 86 PSA 10 examples. We have also included 4 other PSA 10 Legendary Holos which are all the lowest population for any WOTC card for all three characters. The Slowbro has a population of only 35 and the Gyarados has only 36 PSA 10 examples as only 47 PSA 10 Flareons!
