Ultimate Grails #15 is the final drop of this series. We have done some of the top cards in the entire hobby throughout this series but none quite compare with this once in a lifetime card! In October of 1998, Wizards of the Coast made the very first English language Pokemon cards. These included 3 Blastoises with this foil variety and one with a blank white back. This is literally one of the very first cards made by Wizards of the Coast which also happens to be the most desirable era. This is truly the grail of the entire hobby, with values by grade even higher than the Pikachu Illustrator!
ULTIMATE GRAILS #15
There are a ton of other huge E-Series holos from the last 3 sets of the Wizards of the Coast era. These are some of the top grails from Skyridge, Aquapolis and Expedition! In addition, we have included a pair of the highly elusive Mewtwo Secret rares and the card that is considered the earliest version of an Alternate Artwork, the Secret Rare Gyarados!
Typically, we can look at recent sales to come up with a fair valuation of the cards. In this case, it is only an educated guess based on what this card sold for five years ago when the market was significantly lower, and how other high level grail cards have appreciated. We also have professional appraisals between $600-800k but without sending it to auction, it would be impossible to pinpoint a value. The remaining 12 cards have a combined value of around $70,000. When we add everything together, we have priced this significantly below what we believe to be the current market value.
